• Temporary ban on shrimp import from the Republic of India

    Greetings,

    Asharqia Chamber presents you with its best regards and informs you that it has received the letter from the Federation of Saudi Chambers No. (44103767) and the date (5/9/1444 AH), in which it is indicated that the Federation received the letter from the Food and Drug General Authority No. (21615 / p) and the date (30/8/1444 AH) Regarding the letter received from the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture No. (1054/1442/210813) and dated (4/9/1442 AH) corresponding to (11/24/2020 AD), which includes the Ministry’s request to withdraw samples from marine products imported through the border crossings, and after the samples are taken and the appearance of Results positive for white spot syndrome virus (white spot syndrome virus) in frozen shrimp products imported from the Republic of India.

    We inform you of the issuance of Commission Decision No. (20576 / P) dated (22/8/1444 AH) to impose a temporary ban on the import of shrimp from the Republic of India until the Indian side provides sufficient guarantees to ensure the safety of those products exported to the Kingdom and to ensure that the white spot syndrome virus is not transmitted to Kingdom's fish wealth.​​
